I haven't been on for a few days...been feeling rather down and depressed about everything, and feel like I am getting nowhere.

Today, I went shopping, was getting rather ratty going around, and was getting hot and sweaty. When I had finished and came out of the store, because it had been a while since I last tested, I thought I had better test before I commenced driving home. Good job I did...3.9.
Normally, I feel start to shaky just above 4. Now, bearing in mind, I know my meter can be slightly out...I didn't have the shaky feeling, although I was sweaty and ratty.
I have only had 2 hypos, maybe 3, so I don't think i am losing hypo awareness...please someone agree with me!? Was this more than likely just a wrong reading....

I don't know why but i have been feeling depressed about my D, I feel like I am getting nowhere, my numbers are still very up and down, and some days I feel like not bothering to take any insulin. I don't want to feel like this, but don't know what to do.

Hi Doddy, sorry to hear you have been feeling down. It's understandable when you feel you have got stuck in a rut for a bit, but you have made improvements in the time we have 'known' you, and I am sure more are just around the corner so try and keep your spirits up 🙂

It's unlikely you will be losing awareness at this stage - I would actually say that your rattiness could very well be one of your warning signs! I often feel niggled by things only to find that I am just on the cusp of hypo - as you were on this occasion - but other times I will get more obvious signs. The sweating is also a sign you are starting to feel lower than you are used to, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. If in doubt though, it's always worth testing so you can store away that extra bit of information about how you felt, what you were doing, what your level was, and what you did to solve it 🙂

Thanks Alan xx

I won't tell my hubby, also an Alan, about the rattiness being a possible link...he will love that!
I do feel stuck in a rut, and don't know how to get out of it.
Glad you agree it's not a case of losing awareness...i will put this down to experience and I am just happy I didn't have the shakes...I hate it when i get them.

Hi Doddy, feeling ratty, getting hot and sweaty classic warning signs them. I usually pop three or four jelly babies straight away and feel better in minutes. I have packets of jellies stashed every where. My numbers go up and down too but thats the way it is so dont get upset but taking your insulin is important dont forget that.
