Just wondering ...
Do any of you have pets that pester you when your sugar levels are very low?
My cats drive me mad...one winds round my ankles mewing and the other pokes me with her paw until i eat something, she stays with me for ages after...
when my mum goes hypo in her sleep our dog barks at her and yanks at her arms/legs to get her out of bed. She'll also sit with her while she eats without pesting her to give her some, which is pretty unusual 😛
Animals can and do some amazing things. One friend had a dog who always alerted her when she was going to have a seizure. She couldn't stop the seizure but was able to put herself in a position of safety and avoided further injury. Happily her medication is at the right level now and she has been seizure free for some time...
Apparently more effective than a wife who is a paramedic!
My cat is slightly more co-operative getting off my lap or chest if I need to get up for food than if the phone rings. I did consider making a collar pouch so she could carry sweets for me, as she's rarely far from my side, but my pockets are easier. Our ducks are useless in diabetes management, apart from producing lovely eggs - they don't always co-operate with providing a clear path between their food supplies and troughs in the morning, nor always get into their house at tea time.

Hi I have three of the little devils and mine don't seem to be aware when my bs goes very low, but I do have a fantastic hypo daughter who can spot a hypo at ten paces( thank goodness).
You have brilliant cats( even if they can be abit annoying at times)lol Sheena
