I can then eat just that rather than stand at the cupcakes and suddenly realise I’ve eaten three :D

Ah that brings back inglorious memories of the good old "cupcake" disaster of April this year.
I had to stifle a silent sob of nostalgic regret when I read that. I went from 2.3 to 17.8 within about 30 minutes.
It was then that I discovered what a genuine panic attack felt like.

So glad I’m not alone lol

I won't lie.
On reading 17.8, I bolussed like it was going out of fashion in the morning.
How much did I bolus I hear you ask?
A shitload. A veritable shitload.
There's bolussing, rage bolussing and then this type of bolus which is in a class of it's own.
I yoyo-ed for about 24 hours.
After I recovered from the stress, I slept for 14 hours straight.

Oh nasty. I wasn’t quite that bad lol .

Find it hard to resist over treating hypo even after 40 years, most times dont do it but occasionally do.

When I hypoed the other day I ate some sour fizzy belts, but a) they did not do enough on that occasion so I ended up needing Lift tablets as well fifteen minutes later, and b) the open bag is now sitting open so I will have to eat them or they will go off. So really, it was irresponsible and wasteful of me to have not eaten the whole bag at the time.
