Can you give us an idea of a typical days meals and snacks.I am so hungry all the time, I have type 2 controlled by diet for now and I just can’t stop snacking, I just don’t feel full with not much bread or potatoes, my stomach is a bottomless pit
Eat protein. Bacon & eggs for breakfast for instance, chicken, meat, fish, cheese. I found that I was eating a lot to begin with but then got satiated and a week later not really hungry. I still eat a lot of fish and some vegetables, love an omlette with a slice of bacon cut into pieces, 2 eggs and some grated cheese, I can go for hours now on that. Good luck.I am so hungry all the time, I have type 2 controlled by diet for now and I just can’t stop snacking, I just don’t feel full with not much bread or potatoes, my stomach is a bottomless pit

Thanks so much. XI had the same problem when first diagnosed and was hungry all the time, also down to be a fussy eater and basically cutting out too much too soon. Try to snack on a few nuts or cheese and celery, a bit of raw veg, carrots etc. The problem is your body is craving the carbs you have reduced. Believe it or not it will pass, stay strong you will get there x
Oh this is so helpful. I will start doing those things. ThankyouI boil a half a dozen eggs or so and have one with a teaspoon of full fat mayonnaise if I feel hungry or a chunk of nice cheese or some cooked meats or a handful of nuts or some veggie sticks with a sour cream and chive dip or a cup of coffee made with real double cream, or my guilty pleasure, a packet of pork scratchings or a pot of olives with or without feta. These snacks are all low carb. You may also notice that they are quite high fat and that is important because the fat will stop the hunger and provide you with slow release energy and you are not feeding the carb monster cravings. Let him starve to death. Life is so much easier without the beast gnawing at your insides. Once you overcome the cravings for carbs you just don't feel hungry anymore and you need so much less food. For me, having these foods readily available was really important to help me through that transition period of the first few weeks of low carb.
No I think it is a fact, even if you are not diabetic it is a known fact that carbs cause hunger, protein doesn’t. The fact that you don’t eat high carb is why you’re not so hungry....seeI suppose it all depends on what sort of routine you have had, as even when I cut down on having carbs I have not felt hungry. When I work I would have had breakfast at 7.30am but then my lunch time was at 1pm but sometimes I would realise it was 3pm and I hadn't had my lunch, sometimes I would bother but usually not. We did not have dinner until 8pm having not got back from work until 7pm most days. The big difference when I retired was having lunch, and a slice of cake. malt bread or similar with the afternoon cuppa and that was really not necessary. Cutting the carbs hasn't made me want to snack in between meals. I can't say that I actually feel hungry or is it that I don't recognise that I feel hungry
I’ve found it a great help reduction of the obvious carbs, no white bread not eating potatoes white pasta white rice etcHow did you solve it?
Used to go to a pub 50 years ago near Smithfield Market in London and the only food they did was pork pie, potato salad and pickled eggs. Never had one since but might try now.I’ve found it a great help reduction of the obvious carbs, no white bread not eating potatoes white pasta white rice etc
if I eat potato it’s just a small amount of sweet potatoes slices
cut out junk food (although yesterday I did have a small doner kebab)
ive found when I was eating the carb laden foods I just craved them including the junk food more
my go to snack at the moment is Pickled Egg, sliced sprinkled with Chopped Nuts & Full fat mayonnaise
ive noticed on sauces some of the low fat or low sugar ketchups are either high sugar or rich in carbs,
Also eating seeds & nuts in meals where I can (walnuts, macadamia & brazil nuts)
