My BGs have been weird for me during the past few weeks whether or not the weather has been hot ie I've had a hypo every day but at different times of the day. I haven't eaten anything since 8pm last night so that I can basal test...I have to leave not eating longer than others for basal tests because of the gastroparesis. I'm now starving but trying to not eat until 7pm so that I get a good range of results and I haven't got any SF jelly😱 Anyhow I thought it would be good to start when 7.8 to avoid hypos spoiling the basal testing and I'm pleased with the results so far:D
Before bed 7.9
7am 7.8
8am 7.6
9am 7.5
10am 7.2
11am 7.4
12pm 7.0
1pm 7.0

Thanks Caroline🙂

Those are pretty consistent results Amanda, especially considering the slight variations in readings/accuracy 🙂 Keep up the good work and knw that you will be rewarded for your enforced hunger! 🙂

Thanks Alan I am completely, utterly and totally starving but it has been worthwhile because I found a drop from the 7's to
2pm 5.7
3pm 5.4

so I've been able to do some basal tinkering for 12pm-1pm

I think I will manage another hour without food but don't think I will manage any longer. I can't concentrate on anything because my tummy is telling me to give it food!!

I had some meat at 3.30 so stopped the basal test but by then BG was 4.8 so a drop from 7.8 to 4.8 over the day made the test worthwhile🙂. Having a long weekend with OH so will be eating lunch over the next few days. Will do another basal test middle of next week to see how well the changes have worked🙂

Well - if you don't need to inject insulin for protein, you can always have a small protein meal - an omelette eg.
