Huge meter disparity

I tested my blood earlier on my Optium Xceed and came up with a very surprising 2.6 mmol/l 😱 This was about 5 hours after injecting. I felt absolutely no symptoms so didn't believe it and decided to check on my Accu Chek Aviva, using the same drop of blood...4.5 mmol/l!! Now, I know that the Xceed tends to measure lower than the Aviva, but nearly 2 mmol/l? Given that I actually feel more like 4.5 I tend to trust that reading, but have lost trust in the Xceed

I had a similar problem with the Bayer Contour versus the Freestyle. I went with the Freestyle because the result seemed to match how I was feeling most closely. Over a period of several days, there was a consistent 2 point variance between them with the Bayer being the lower of the two.

Hehe! 🙂 It's not normally that bad, usually just 0.5 mmol lower than the Aviva, but 2 mmol is ridiculous, especially at low levels 😱

Stupid question but have you tested them on the test sample? Could be a battery problem or something else, it's unusual for that kind of discrepancy at levels below 5, did you retest the Optium on the same blood or had you run out by then (in case it's water on the finger which could affect the first test, maybe)

I rarely use the Xceed, although I had used it yesterday a few times and it was showing about 0.3-0.5 mmol/l below my Aviva, so I was quite shocked to see the 2.6. I've used it a couple of times today and it seems to match expectations, so not sure what it was all about. Haven't got any control solution for it as I rarely use it (it's my 'spare' meter and for ketones).
