Someone mentioned carbs and cals? Yes there is an app.
it is quite good for takeaway foods actually, it has a lot of the chain fast food meals already on it, and then some standard general takeaway items.
I only really get it right with the chip shop type meals, curry and Chinese go a bit wonky so I stick to say kebab and chips or along those lines

I use the app, it’s not perfect but very handy especially for eating out

Also I have found that Wetherspoon (they did pay their staff, the papers lie) show all carbs and nutritional info on their website, in every combination. It’s so helpful. I might email them actually and thank them.

Yesterday we went for lunch, I had small fish and chips, even that is on their website with garden and mushy pea versions of the meal separate. And I have found (extensive research) that is pretty spot on. And if you take half dose before it arrives and once it’s arrived it’s a winner!

As @Paulbreen mentioned earlier, it’s the onions in curries that contribute all the carbs. I do a fair amount of Indian cooking, and the sauce almost always starts off with an onion, garlic, ginger and chilli chucked into a blender with a bit of water or yoghurt, and that forms the basis of everything else. Onions contain sucrose - that’s why you can caramelise them with slow frying.

Then there’s the onions chopped and sliced for the finished sauce, so thinking it’s only the rice you have to bolus for is more than a bit misguided.

When away we often look out for Wetherspoon pubs & eat there, food & drink is cheap & decent quality for chain type pubs.
