Hi all,
When Nathan was first diagnosed we were very lucky to be given a copy of the following book by the DSN. I have found it a valuable piece of equipment, so much so I call it my Bible. It offers every aspect, every scenario possible.
Its called:
HOW TO BECOME AN EXPERT ON YOUR OWN DIABETES.. TYPE 1 DIABETES, IN CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS.
The Author:
Dr Ragnar Hanas
second edition

Oops!

Hi Sasha1

I have just posted a book recommendation then i read your post of yesterday and i think i have duplicated! Do you think we are talking about the same book? If so, I agree with you totally about how good it is.

Hi hun,
I think it is the same book, mines the second edition. Its a superb book, like you would strongly recommend it, to any parent of others who have type 1.
As we both said... A Bible..

I bought this last week. I read one page and immediately learned 3 things I hadn't known about injections - all of which were helpful. It's a fantastic book, and very easy to understand.

It is the best book I have read on Type 1, and shouldn't just be aimed at younger people and children - I was 49 when I was diagnosed! There was a new edition came out earlier this month.

I had this book out of the library last week, didn't really take to it, not sure why though. Maybe because I was approaching it for some academic work I'm doing rather than for my own knowledge.

goodness when i saw that thread i thot heidi had come back amongst us

I thought she was back too! I really do miss her. Does anyone know how she is or why she not here? I just hope she is ok. 🙂
