I am a 67 year old male for the record.🙂, but often behave and act like a youngster.:D

64 and female here but the rest is me!😛

Well age is irelevent where friends are concerned, but I am very proud to say with the help of the NHS I am 61. Why proud, well I was given max 3yrs to live after diagnosis of Renal failure, then well I did live & went on th marry & have a child.
So I am H>A>P>P>Y to be 61. :-D

Hi Alan

I don't mind admitting it. I'm 42, mentally 21, physically 42 😱

Cheers

Andy

I am 72 going on 16.

Totally irrelevant I know but it is a fascinating subject, how age is perceived from children upwards.
An eight year old thinks a twelve year old is grown up.
A twelve year old cannot wait to get to thirteen and be a teenager.
A thirteen year old cannot wait to get to sixteen to become "grown up".
A sixteen year old is looking forward to their eighteenth birthday.
A twenty one year old is feeling that they are getting old and wish that they were eighteen.
A twenty five year old is worried that they are getting towards being thirty.
A thirty year old feels really old and is not looking forward to getting to forty.
A forty year old thinks that people lie when they say that life begins at forty.
A fifty year old feels quite content with their age, they are old enough to not care what others think.
A sixty year old feels much the same as they did at fifty.
A seventy year old has enough to worry about without thinking about their age.

These are not set in stone but my observations.:D Feel free to add your own versions.

Very good cherrypie :D I would certainly agree with the one about the fifties, which is where I am currently (apparently! 🙂)

I suppose the fact that were all dealing with diabetes here sort of makes up for it. Younger people come on here, and they can still get advise from older people because they dealt with the once too! Of course it is nice to be able to relate to people right now but we have all dealt with this at around about the same ages. So really age isn't important!

On the other hand, I still think i'm 18... even though i'm still young going to be 20. haha.

As everyone else said, age is irrelevant. But as we can't see each other (apart from meetings and the odd "real" avatar), I just think everyone is my age 😉(apologies to everyone who's actually younger). I'm 20 years + quite a few months (ok, I'm 43). When I look in the mirror I can see that I'm getting older, but in my mind I'm still an innocent 20 year old.

Hi

GP told me on Monday I have the kidneys of a 25 year old. Shame about the rest of me.

52 but hubby is 47 & was diagnosed with chickenpox yesterday!

Never really think about peoples ages on here or in 'real' life - I know some OAP's who 'haven't got the sense they were born with' (as my Gran used to say) and one in particular very sesible and mature soon to be 13 year old:D

I feel mentally the same as when I was around 23 but I've doubled that now plus a little more. Phsically few more aches and creaks (thought it was our stairs, but no, it's my knees😉)

Was saying to K the other day that she's almost grown up because she will be 13 at end of the month, which makes her 14 in a year - by which time I was 'grown up' as far as I was concerned - I have made all my own decisions since then as realised so called 'adults' could and did get it wrong!

My OH looked about 35 when I met him - he was 22! Prematurely grey, bless, but now he could pass for 40, which he did pass nearly as long ago as I did:D
(yes, he is a 'toy boy', just!)

a very interesting post!!!

I will be turning 30 later this year....and am dreading it. Not so much the age, but more because when you reach milestone ages, it's natural to reflect on what you've achieved and I have achieved only 1 thing out of about 4 I'd really thought I'd have done by then :( by the time I was 30 I'd have thought I'd be married, own my own house and have 2 or 3 kids...so far all I've managed is to get married.

ah well!

I turn 65 in March - can't believe it - where did all those years go ? All those ambitions, dreams, people I knew......ah well, just keep breathing and taking the pills/insulin !

I look in the mirror and my lovely old mother looks back first thing in the morning - later in the day I'm not so bad!

I tend to think we are all much of an age on here (probably 30/40ish) and I don't think of myself as an oldie - but then who does ?

But have you acheived anything that you didn't imagine you would ?

Getting married is no small thing. It sets you on a course for the rest of your life, so whatever comes after is a shared experience. You'll always have someone to plan, to have fun with and to sit and remenisce about the good times when you're too to do anything old like the rest of us ! :D

Faith, your post made me smile as every now and then my mother also smiles back at me in the mirror!!

I turn 60 next month and also give thanks to the NHS. Still here and relaxed about taking the pills that help me maintain my independance and health.

I shall be 73 next month but some days feel 90 others 18. Fortunately I get more 18 days than the 90. It's all in the mind. My pals who I pick up for a pub lunch are older than me by quite a few years but we make fun of our ailments have a good laugh which is the best medicine, and carry on being positive rather than negative. We have all come through some pretty grim times in our lives but we have just gritted our teeth said a silent prayer and got on with life. Age is just a number. Someone once said to me " to worry is negative it achieves nothing" how right they were. I may be cracking on 73 but boy am I going to make the best of what time I have left and hope I'll still be 18 if I reach 90 and beyond in my mind. Whey hey, yabba dabba doo. There's life in the old girl yet.

A terrific philosophy on life muddlethru! 🙂

"Thank you kind Sir" she said, as she waved her wooden leg. Tee hee.

I am very new here, so I haven't thought about it. I am 47, and up until the last couple of months, haven't given much thought to my own age. I had to go for my first flu jab today and I must admit, I felt old.

I am exactly half way from the age at which I graduated to the age at which I shall be able to retire (assuming they don't change it again before I get there!) 😉
