How do you all ‘celebrate’ New Year’s Eve?’

I read today that in 2016 a survey showed that 40 million people in the UK were planning a quiet night in on New Year’s Eve.

I’ll shout ‘hooray, another bloody year’ and go to bed.

(I’m not at my chirpy best just at the minute)😳

I haven't done anything for years. I just don't understand what all the hoo ha is about - it is just another day.
I'll be going to bed at 10pm as normal (other half goes out), with one dog who is fine and the other who is terrified of loud noises🙄.

I used to stay up until midnight to wish Mum Happy New Year but in recent years I've gone to bed before 10pm because I'm such a lightweight. Mark and I will be having a nice seafood dinner on New Year's Eve, including lobster, and we will definitely be celebrating with champagne 🙂

Big night here. Fireworks -well-more like artillery shells on sticks, no pretty lights. As the clock strikes midnight most Spanish eat one grape per stroke to bring good luck. The amount of food eaten per family would keep the people of poorer countries satisfied for a week!

I still go to bed a 8 pm, I am woken up at midnight by the 'fireworks' but soon go back to sleep,my eldest dog is terrified of the row they make., I'll eat chicken Chilindron which is already prepared and open a bottle of Cava.

Unfortunately yesterday I was taken ill and had to have the emergency doctor and had little or no sleep so taking today to gather my wits and strength.

Whatever you are doing I hope that you enjoy yourselves and I wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

I've only been out on New Years eve twice in my life, and both were rubbish. I do always stay up to bring in the New Year, then bed soon after. Just our usual quiet night in with some bubbly. No Jools though as the wife can't stand him.

Going to see bells in with my friend. We are light weights so will probably sleep through jools and Netflix. Both have to drive next day so not a lot of alcohol. Got some raspberry gin and some rhubarb and ginger gin. Having New Year’s Day dinner with same friends then tree down and back to “normal”have a good time everyone, and “a guid new year to one and aw”

We usually have a quiet night in watching a movie. Probably be in bed just before midnight.

Fortunately, the little one normally can sleep through the fireworks.

New Years Day is the big one up here in the Highlands but it will feel a strange Diabetic first New years day for me without the Traditional wee square sausage and tattie scone rolls to help soak up the fizz !
All the best to you and yours for 2018

I felt a bit guilty (aye right) because I left a scrap of washing in my laundry basket and didn’t do all my ironing and house not shining like a new pin. That’s it ba’s on the slates....that’s how the rest of the year will be...and.. no resolutions to break

Me and hubby used to go out New Year but these days we prefer to just do our own thing, we try to stay awake for the fireworks, I didn't manage it this year lol.
