Thank you - it has been. Still went out today but wore a hat - which I'm sure must have helped. Figures are still too high for my liking but nothing like yesterday.

Today was tuff for me, every day is getting harder :( I wear a suit all day to keep out glass fiber etc, as I repair boats and trust me that takes it's toll, I am so burnt even tho I wear factor 50 for kids, problem is I work on the water with no shade , and my boss told us to have water with us as he does not like us keep going into the work place to get out of the sun and having cold water from the fridge, he knows I am diabetic and taking new drugs but no......do I get any sympathy?.....the cheek of it is he sits in the office all day and comes down to us and says well at least you are shaded a bit? yes maybe my foot!!! 😡
I have also finding myself not eating a lot then feeling woozy...I drink tons of water but honestly some bosses are....well sorry **** heads!!!

Really sorry you are having such a tough time, and with such an unappreciative boss :( Have you got any holiday due?

You only have to quote the relevant part of the Disability Discrimination Act (or what ever it is now) that states that an employer must make any and all reasonable adjustments to make the place of work safe for any disabled employee. I know that we don't class ourselves as disabled but by legal definition we are. You have the right to go under cover for shade at any point at which you feel that you are overheating. If you or one of your colleagues were to suffer from heat exhaustion then your employer would be liable. They should understand this!

What I still don't get is how to lower BS levels as a type 2. Type one take more insulin or sugar type of thing if they go haywire... What do type 2s do?
Going into London tomorrow, so hot ... Not really looking forward to the city and heat... Being asthmatic as well :(

I had a week of 3 weeks ago and we all caught that horrible bug so I ended not chilling out just trying to get better, just feel like poo at the mo :(

He wouldn't be so stupid if one of you became seriously ill. He would end up paying rather heavily for it. You have the legal right to refuse to work in any condition that you feel is either unsafe or unhealthy. Can you contact your local CAB about it?

Unfair dismissal, there are many people who know how to go about making complaints about this sort of thing. I once made a formal complaint about a former manager at work as she was bullying me, fortunately I work for a fairly big company and they ended up sacking her, if I were working for a small business I would be inclined to seek external help and double check my contract. Some of the fines that employers can be faced with soon change their minds.
