one of the most boring places in the world.

I’m after ideas of things to do as I seem to sit in a lot of them (this is my 3rd appointment this week and it’s only Tuesday)...
Pregnancy waiting rooms are worse too as you seem to wait for ages no matter what time your appointment is.

So, bring on the best, most fun ideas please 🙂... help alleviate the boredom

Make up stories in your head for other people waiting and invent really interesting backgrounds for them!

I always take magazines with me, particularly ones that I am happy to leave behind for future users.

I’m an hour and ten into waiting now...

Phone battery is slowly dying. Next time I’ll have to come prepared with an army of things to do.

I know it’s good I get seen so regularly but really this appointment could be done via email

I waited 40 minutes after my appointment time when a nurse came to tell us that the consultant was running 1 hour late and did anyone want to go home and make an appointment for another time !

I always rip some crosswords or sudoku out of the newspaper before I go. Worst place is the Oxford Eye hospital, which always seems to be running several hours late ( had to go there with OH regularly for his appointments a couple of years ago, he needed a driver as it always involved eye drops. At least I'd got him to talk to) There's no catering facility up there, but they do lend out pagers if you've got a long wait and want to go and grab a coffee, then they page you when it's coming up to your turn.
I remember maternity appointments always used to take three hours, as you worked your way round and waited for all the people you'd got to see. You could guarantee that if you sloped off to the loo (and who doesn't in the latter stages of pregnancy) you'd be called the minute you'd disappeared.

See if you can work out what all the different uniforms that you see indicate, or was it just chosen because it was the only one that fitted

Start knitting socks. They are easy to carry with you and I am amazed how much I get done sitting around in hospitals. I knew I was really ill last time I was in as I got no reading and no knitting done in three days!!

Take your favourite photo albums with you ~ the person sitting next to you is bound to spark off a conversation with you and you'll end up sharing your photos with them and the stories behind them x

People watching is my favourite past time in waiting rooms, also eaves dropping on other peoples conversations :D
