Did anyone watch this last night? it was very interesting. I want one of the glucose monitoring app that the doctor was using on his phone 🙂
 
Yes, I saw it. Interesting, if somewhat obsessive on the part of some of them!
 
It's a shame they didn't expand on what that device was. They did say it required a sensor, as you might expect, but my understading of the currently available CGMs is that they need a receiver costing upwards of ?800, not a mobile phone app...
 
The sensor looked about the size of the plastic egg inside a Kinder Surprise. It sent the signal to his phone.

My comment about obsession was really about the man who kept his poo samples in the freezer. 😱
 
The young American schoolgirl who'd developed the computer programme to analyse cancer cells was amazing. The bit about smartphones knowing so much about us all spooked me a bit but to think that all that data could be used to spot trends and help with flu outbreaks was a real eye opener. Fascinating stuff.
