Honey 'slow-release energy'

Just seen an advert for Rowse honey, described as 'slow-release energy'- whatever next? Treacle? 😱

Well they are both lower GI than sugar :D

Which itself is lower GI than 'healthy' wholegrain cereals (Weetabix for example) and many wholemeal breads. Bah!
 
Anecdotally, honey is supposed to be good for distance running to maintain long term energy.

I did get the impression that it releases it is metabolised a lot slower than some other sugar (natural or processed) laden foods.

WOuld be nice to find out if it's real or advertising hype.🙂
