Hi

I know it's been covered several times before, but can I ask again.

How long do you honeymoon for? I know it hasn't been 12 months since I was diagnosed, but I'm finding it quite hard to control at the mo. I've been reducing my novarapid and eating more, but haven't changed my levemir, frightened to to be honest, no idea how much to change it by, as I wake up okay I don't think I need to change it, I dunno? I'm thinking should I ask to see my DSN just to talk over things, I haven't seen her for over 4 months, just seems a waste of her time if I'm kinda okay.

Any words would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi hun

Its a hard one to answer this, because everyone is different. Nathan was diagnosed in Feb07, and pretty much out of it about 8-9 mths later. His consultant said at the time it can be anywhere up to 18mths.
I would say go and see your DSN, you wont be wasting her time at all.. she's there to help and ultimately be able to work through your insulin doses etc.
