I've an accu chek aviva and an accu chek aviva nano. Marclister - you can register your meter on their website and then just order control solutions, batteries and paper record booklets on line. They are very efficient. At the moment they have a special offer on their upload Smrt Pix gizmo - ?14.99 - uses USB port. Ordered one on Thursday and it arrived whilst I was out on Friday so picked it up from the Post Office yesterday but haven't had time to fit it yet

That's the one!🙂 You could ring them any time, it's 24/7 I believe.
Cheers. 😎

Hiya,
I have the one touch ultra lite and it doesnt test wth control solution, great and easy to use, especially beginners. I called them on their number having seen an advert in Balance magazine and got great person service, what meter would be right for me to update etc' warranty and my info is logged for batterries and breakdowns. I had the fancy one touch meters before that came indifferent colours and thought it wasnt working well. They were horrified when I told and all about the service getting me something else new and fancy ASAP! I reminded them I was a customer for life and this old meter wouldnt do! (felt I had milked it too far then...). I have 7 spare meters, my DSN loads me up constantly and I have given 2 more away. They get them free as she keeps reminding me, and the companies make huge money from the strips and once they get you on their brand and strips you are often hooked long term. I think if anyone gave one of these companies a call, you would be surpised what great service is on offer.

I havent looked, but I hear Balance is online now through the DUK website. They had a great suppliment (last?) month on meters making some comparisons. Worth taking a breese through.....

I dont seem to be able to get a free meter from abbotts it says they replace batts and send you solution control and they send you co pilot cables but no mention of a free meter i signed up for there 'freinds for life' policy on line as well .I dunno if i got to ring and ask aint sure ..:confused: does any body actually know where i can get a replacement meter either online or by ringing number ????

I would consider changing your meter. You will then need to get your strips changed on prescription but a change of strips form comes in the box to make it easy for you. If you google 'one touch ultra 2' you will get their number.

Meter advice...

I have been using accu check meters for years and never bought one or had to replace one - they send all the batteries/control solution etc free of charge. They have a brilliant customer service line and if there is anything wrong with your meter they send a new one overnight - usually the latest version! Once I rang up with a query and they offered to send me their latest version - even though I didn't ring up to replace my meter!!
