Today Dylan readings have been above 14 all day woke up at 14.1 this morning and for tea its 14.4 ive checked loads today and every reading has been no lower than 14.
He has been so angry and hiting his brother peeing loads and drinking loads.
lastnight he went to bed as normal and was up from 11 until 3.30 did a reading at 3am and he was 16.7

Spoke to one of the nurses today and she said about uping his tea time insulin #but not his morning one as he had a low yesterday and was perfect for tea.
and she wants to give it a few days

Im not sure if to up his insulin tomorrow myself or do as the nurse says..
Its so fustrating as she doesnt have to deal with him while he is high.

Hi Mrs Boyle,

Sorry to hear Dylan's feel feeling rough! Did you increase the tea time dose today? If so I'd wait & see what happens tomorrow during the day before even thinking about tweaking again...it can take a day or two to settle down sometimes. The other thing is do you think he might be coming down with a bug? My sugar levels normally go higher when I'm ill... I'd see how he does tonight, and call the nurse again tomorrow if you're worried. Hope that helps! 🙂

Sorry MrsBoyle, I can't remember whether you've changed to MDI yet or you're still on Novomix30. I'm guessing mix.
So, I'd agree with the nurse, increase the teatime one as she said and give it 3 days. The reason for that is, that it takes that long to show if it is enough or not.
I know it's hard when your little one is agressive. You want to tell him off, but you also have it in the back of your mind that it isn't his fault, so you don't want to tell him off. It is really difficult to know when to tell him off. With C I never know if she's behaving badly, because 1. she's hypo, 2. she's hyper, 3. she's a teenager and her hormones are messing with her. Or has she just plainly been badly brought up?

Keep strong xxxx

Hiya
Im glad i listen to everyone who said to leave it because today every time ive tested him he hasnt been any higher than 7 so im really happy with that. we have also changed from mixtard 30 to humilin another mixed insulin so not sure if thats had an effect on today but eitehr way im so much happier with the whole thing.

But he did have a low in the night after putting him up. but he also slept sooo good.

xx

Brilliant!! Well done you two! 🙂

Brilliant!!

Oh, I didn't realise Dylan was on the Mixtard 30, which is being discontinued. Hope the Humulin will work well for him. My friend's daughter will change to Humulin after the holidays too.

hi again

I have replied to one of your other posts - and given you a run down of JP's levels last week. However if for Dylan 14 is a high reading it might depress you seeing JP's results - maybe don't put all yyour hopes in the MDI's - cos as you'll see its not necessarily sorted for JP - not sure why but he still has very random readings!!

14 is about average for JP - hang in there - i think you're doing better than you think. 🙂
