Hi All,
Does any one else have high cholesterol?
I went to the GP the other day for a non diabetes related thing (friends child gave my bf impetigo and he kindly passed it to me - fabulous!!) and we were casually discussing my pump. I said that my A1c had improved so she pulled my last results up. No exaggeration, she practically jumped out of her chair at my cholesterol result.
I know i have high cholesterol, it runs in my family, and have discussed it with my endocrinologist who was quite blase about the whole thing and didnt really give me any advice except that he didnt want to give me pills because "im of child bearing age and accidents do happen" (charming!).
Any way, my GP has now made me feel like a failure all over again and like im about to drop dead any second. Food seems even more restricted and has once again become the thing that other "healthy" people enjoy!
Ive been cycling every day since, taking pro active yoghurts and cut out anything that has ever been suggested to raise cholesterol. Gone are my beloved cheese and chocolate.
Just felt like i was getting back on track, with the pump having a positive effect and have now had the rug pulled well and truly out from under me.
im sorry i havent been on for a while and now im moaning, but sometimes this feels like the only place to come x
