I get the same thing - my ever helpful liver thinks I am starving and throws out glucose so I can chase down dinner. I eat breakfast these days in order to stop it, then do not eat for 12 hours.
I am sure that I am a boring type two though, not something more exotic but misdiagnosed.

I hope you don't mind me asking but just out of curiosity why do you not eat for 12 hours? I have not heard of anyone else doing this and wondered what the advantage to you is. Sorry Fifi240 hope you don't mind me stepping in to ask this on your post.

Why is my sugars so high even after not eating for 15 hours

There can be many reasons, from fighting an illness to not washing your finger before testing. If it is a one-off I would not be too concerned, the body des not work in a precise way and these things can just happen. It is just that most people do not test their levels to realize it.

But if it is regularly too high you need to contact your G.P. so they can investigate, it could be related to your diabetes or a sign of another problem, but will need treating regardless.

In ordinary times I was often out all day, so I would often eat after loading up the car and then not eat again until I arrived back in the evening. By using my meter I would see that my levels were good and I did not have to bother with finding food or taking anything with me - though I did get a couple of flasks for transporting coffee in cooler weather.

Ah right thanks for explaining..i think i look forward to my food too much to do that and would get very hungry. :D

Oh I enjoy my meals, but I am never hungry - I have two proper meals a day - and a wide variety of foods.

Everyone's different as to when they need to eat - don't think having D has anything much to do with it. Non D husband drives me bananas quite often cos his body clock keeps to a very tight eating schedule - and mine simply doesn't!
