@Leadinglights yes, it's an average and doesn't mean it's always been at that level during the 3 months. A few high spikes could skew it as could low periods. When I was first diagnosed I did some testing (Before changing diet) and saw readings of between 6 and 9.1. Shortly after being diagnosed I found a website that converts between the various values and tries to calculate averages and so on.
Absolutely, that is what an average is, highs and lows will be evened out, I believe their is some algorithm which weights the more recent weeks as more significant.

my last Hb1ac was 75, I take it his is high, it doesn’t geteplainedmuch.
as I’m sure your aware @Lben384 a Hba1c of 75 into of control Diabetic range, but at least your now facing up to making the necessary changes.
however 75 still isn’t as high as some peoples Hba1c was, before they understood how to get a better control, for example mine was over 100 (not sure exactly how high it got to)
now mine is 52 and I’m confident the next test (hopefully this will be in 3 months time)
it will be back in the 40’s
