Tell us a bit more about yourself

Have you been living with diabetes for long? How are you getting on? Do you take any medications? Do you monitor your own BG levels at home? Is there anything in particular that you find difficult with your diabetes management? Or have you found any things particularly helpful?
 
Hi, sorry for late reply.
I've had Type 2 for over 20 years and I'm Insulin controlled. I seem to have managed my condition quite well as my check numbers are always good every time they are checked however I've just changed to a new way to run my condition as I thought that my insulin doses were quite high although my numbers are still fine. I'll explain all this later once I'm sorted as it may help someone else. I'm going to maybe try a pump but I'm looking for the do's and don'ts about it and if in general they are ok or not so I'll lurk for awhile and comment later. I'm in my mid 70's, nearly forgot that.

Are you in the UK ? I don't think it is usual for Type2 to be offered pumps in the UK.

No it would be very rare for a T2 under current guidance.
 
Thanks for the reply, it looks like that idea has been squashed, i'll have a look at the prices of them then decide what to do. Thanks anyway.

I don't think you can self fund pumps.
 
Hang on - @JohnM - are you actually T2? - or were you T2 and originally treated by tablets etc, and then these were having no effect so you were moved onto insulin and now use ONLY insulin?
