I have t2 diagnosed last September, on 2g metformin but still have bs ranging from 10-13, my problem is controlling carbs, specifically bread, I work nights so permanently tired and find it difficult to find time for regular exercise, I feel I am floundering and don't have next diab appt until November.... Any advice much appreciated

Hi Jacque, welcome to the group no one chooses to join 🙂 when you say you have trouble controlling carbs, what do you mean? What carbs are you still eating? I found it easier to cut all rice, pasta and potatoes, the only bread I eat is Burgen which is a low carb soy and linseed option. Something I use for packed lunch is a no pastry quiche with ham, asparagus, cheese and a bit of tomato.
Feel free to ask any questions you might have, everyone here is really friendly :D

As Cathy has said it is the carbs that raise our BG, whatever they are disguised as.
Added to that different people react to different foods in different ways.
One way to find out how you respond is to check you BG before and after a meal.
If the results of these tests are kept along with a food diary it may help to identify patterns.

What carbs do you eat and how many at any meal?

Welcome to the forum Jacqui, from a fellow T2.
