It's my some who is type 1 diabetic, he is 15 and was diagnosed nearly 4 years ago.
 
Hi Lesley- from a mums point of view I should imagine its much harder when a child is diagnosed than if it was yourself. My 7 year old Godson was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 5 and I am in awe of how he copes. You'll find lots of support and advice on here 🙂
