Hi I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in December2023 and given a monitor and Gliclazide tablets with no information about diet etc. Thankfully Diabetes UK has been very useful. I have recently had a very nasty cold/ flu and would normally have soldiered on with ibuprofen, paracetamol and decongestants but I read you have to be careful about what you take with Gliclazide so I have only taken paracetamol which hasn’t enabled me to carry on as I would have before being diagnosed. I was wiped out for a while which was annoying. Is it true you can only take paracetamol please?

I'm afraid you need to ask a Pharmacist. No one on the forum is qualified to advise you.

The leaflet inside the gliclazide box will tell you if there are any medications you can’t take whilst taking the gliclazide. Take the box to the pharmacist and ask if you aren’t sure.
