Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
i hope there is good advice to further my knowledge of understanding this illness, i have researched a vast amount and have lots of good info if anyone would like my knowledge of how i put a type 2 diabetic blood sugar count of 24 into remission, as in a blood sugar of 6, 2 hrs after eating or on a bad day 7.5 max after eating junk in 14 weeks, everyone is different, some may do it in less time others longer but remission is possible for anyone

Congratulations in joining the growing number of people putting their T2D into remission (though I don't suppose you are officially in remission yet).

Welcome to the forum @richard_medhurst

Look forward to hearing more of your experiences.

There have been a few threads about the emerging concept of diabetes remission in clinical studies, including this one:

2 hrs after eating and sugar level is 3.8, even though i cannot go eating half a cheesecake with 1/2 pint of cream as this will raise my sugar to 8.2 after 2 hours, i done a test on myself on tuesday, but i am thinking of dropping the meds and just use diet control with the addition of a few roots and herbs, seems to work wonders so far, my pancreas does seem to be producing insulin again, the only downside is i'm still losing weight, albeit just 2lbs in 2 weeks, possibly going to have to start trying more carbs and see what happens, but remission has definitely been accomplished in 14 weeks of being diagnosed

If you are a type two then it is most unlikely that your pancreas stopped producing insulin but is now working again.
Many type twos, if nothing more complicated can achieve remission fairly quickly by eating a low carb diet, but there is no need to limit protein and fats and then it is just a case of waiting for the ongoing tests to confirm it.
You could eat cheesecake with cream if it was made with low carbohydrate ingredients - finely chopped almonds rather than biscuit crumbs for instance. It is just a matter of knowing the best alternatives.
