Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi to everyone. I'm Liz and am 30 years old. I stumbled across this site by accident a few weeks ago and have found it very interesting and informative, so I plucked up the courage to join myself. Everyone seems really friendly. I have been type 1 for nearly 15 years and am struggling with it at the moment. My blood sugars keep going low in the night, so it i end up feeling c**p when I get up in the morning. I hate being diabetic sometimes!😡

Hi Liz

Welcome to the forum 🙂

Hi Liz

welcome to the forum, I have a lot of problems with nighttime hypos too, they leave you feeling rubbish. What insulins are you on?

Rachel

Hi Liz welcome to the forum! I too am struggling with night time hypos doesn't seem to matter what I do with my Lantus, I still end up going low.

Hi Shiv I know that feeling well! It makes me feel better to know that others struggle with night time hypos though.

Hi all and thanks for the welcome. Rachel, I am on novorapid and lantus insulins x x

Liz - I was put on to Levemir instead of lantus to help with the night time hypos, I think it has helped a bit. I split the dose so I have less in the evening than morning. Currently 13units at 8am and 5 at 8pm. The extra injection is not so good though.

There has just been another newbie on here who has problems with night hypos - you are far from alone.

Welcome to the forum Liz,

I'm sure that you'll find lots of help and support here.

Andy 🙂
