Hi Amy, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your little one's diagnosis - how is she coping with things? What insulin regime is she on? If you have a look in our Useful links thread you'll find links to some good sources of help and information. In particular, I would recommend the Children with Diabetes website, and also Type 1 Diabetes in Children, Adolescents and Young People by Ragnar Hanas (if you don't already have a copy!).

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered 'silly', and there are lots of friendly, knowledgeable people here who will try their best to help you out! 🙂

Hi Amy, i love south wales, worked in cardiff for 3 month. Used to walk past cardiff arms park 7am on way to work & you could feel the "power". Hope your little one & you are coping. I was given the big d at 3 years old aswell (Now to close to 50) You have come to a good place for info & support. Keep at it 🙂

thank you every one for your kind messages, i will be back with questions as soon as phoebe goes on the pump, so thank you all very much for your kind support x

Just adding my welcome 🙂

Our daughters are the same age so we will probably be facing similar issues no doubt.
Check out the pumping section for advice and information if your little one is getting her pump soon. I recommend getting the book "Pumping Insulin" by Walsh and Roberts, really helped us get things on track and learn to get the best out of the pump.

Best wishes x
