4 years ago they started me on Ozempic, I went from 5 injections a day to 2 plus the weekly one of Ozempic. I have been trying to get more ozempic from my GP for 3 weeks now, getting concerned as to what it will do to my sugar levels without something. Told by the Receptionist theat Ozempic is not getting special urgency - anyone advise what I can do - waited for 1/2 hour to be told no appointments.

Sorry to hear you have got caught up in the GLP shortages :(

Our response to serious supply issues of drugs for people with type 2 diabetes

The global shortage in supply was partly due to a surge in off-label prescriptions of the drug semaglutide being issued for weight loss, which was exceeding supply. Previously (since the summer of 2023) all stocks of GLP-1 RAs had to be reserved for those already using these medications...
