Hi there.. Writing and looking for info on behalf of my sister... She is 55 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes approximately 5 months ago, brought on by immunotherapy for her cancer. Recently fitted with the libre free style but so many questions about diabetes in general.. Have seen diabetes team twice since diagnosed and get conflicting answers to everything... We are new to this forum and not familiar on how it works.. Help and guidance would be much appreciated..

Welcome to the forum @Harvestmoon , glad that you have found us.
Sorry to hear about your sister’s diagnosis along with all that she is already coping with.

It is a lot to take on at the start with the need to sort out appropriate doses of insulin.
Do you have any specific questions. Nothing is considered silly on here and there are plenty of people happy to help in any way that we can. Just ask.

Hello @Harvestmoon welcome to the forum, we hope we can help you with your questions about your dear sister.

May we know what insulin she is on? also other medication she is taking will help. So sorry she is going through this
situation there are a few other members on the forum going through a similar experience.

As @SB2015 says ask any question you like but remember as you probably realise it does affect you too so you have to
keep yourself well to be able to help your sister, take care stay safe.

I think you would both be well advised to click on the 'Learning Zone' at the top of each Forum page, register for that to get access and read everything you can about T1. There's also an excellent book written in readable English that's exceedingly helpful to anyone newly diagnosed so don't be put off by the title - whole point is it's utterly confusing for any newly diagnosed person whether they are aged 8 months or 80 years!
