Ah right, I never had any of that to do and as I developed my first eye related complication less than a month after being diagnosed Type 1 I've never had an eye screening as never been discharged from ophthalmology xx

Hi how di you get started with opthamology? Is that something I need to do? Today I got awful sore toe. Been on the phone to the nurse now waiting for Dr to call
Again is this too early to have toe problems or feet?
Many thx

No it's not something you need to do, I was referred by my optician because my eye condition was picked up during my eye test

Do you remember bumping it? Rubbing on anything?

Sorry can't really say yes or no to too soon, there isn't really such a thing, if things happen they happen but do see about it if it doesn't start to ease off soon
xx

Sorry to hear about your sore tootsies @sheba602

Is this something you've had before your T1 diagnosis? Are you wearing comfortable and well-fitting shoes?

We need to look after our feet!

Hi not its the first time. Its on the toe joint just red sore painful. Shoes are fine. Dr given antibiotics for a week. The pharmacist suggested maybe a bacterial infection and she also set me up to see a chiropodist next week just to be on safe side and have a check. And she mentioned using foot moisturiser to keep feet moisturised. It looks like a bunion but it isnt and not gout either. Thx for answering. The diabetic nurse didnt have a clue really.

Could it be bursitis? That’s on the toe joint and can look red and swollen.

Hi good point. I will look into this. Funny the Dr prescribed antibiotics without even looking at it . It was the pharmacist who gor me to take a pic and she emailed it to the surgery insisting the Dr had a look!! No mention of bursitis or anything just antibiotics.

I am monitoring. Thx for the suggestion. Best wishes to all. Enjoy yr weekend

Are you sure it's not gout? Presentation in women can be quite different to men and could be triggered by a sudden change in diet or dehydration. It sounds like if you've got something brewing elsewhere, then that could easily have sparked it off.

Hi The Dr and Diabetic nurse are convinced its not gout . So I will just monitor it. They have said to check in next week

Thx again all

Hope you can get it sorted soon. Sounds very uncomfortable. :(
