Hi everyone. I'm new here but not new to diabetes. I was diagnosed over 10 years ago type 2 and been very up and down in regards to HBA1C latest 73.
Joined to chat and seek advice/tips from others. Hope everyone is well and looking forward to chatting.
 
Hi, and welcome. Did that HbA1c come as a surprise or have you been self-testing and noticed that your BG was trending upwards, and your HbA1c confirmed it?

I knew it was going to be high but much better than previous 3 months ago which was even higher. I know everything I should be doing but have major problems putting it into practice. Hopefully on here I can start making some headway.

I've only been dealing with it for getting on for 5 years and find it hard some days so I imagine 10 years is even tougher. What keeps me focussed and to keep doing what I need to do is knowing what might happen if I don't. What sort of things are holding you back, if you don't mind me asking?

Well done on reducing your HbA1c this time around. It can feel like a slog at times can’t it?

We have all sorts of different people with different flavours of diabetes all trying to muddle through, and try to get their glucose to behave for as much of the time as we can manage.

There’s no one-size-fits all approach that works for everyone, so what matters really is finding a set of strategies that give you the results you are looking for, and which you can maintain.

What have you been doing to reduce your HbA1c between your last checks? Are there things you can build on and stick with?
