Well not sure I can blame Zoe for alarming me...google suggested that my blood sugar levels were indicative of pre-diabetes. Hence my coming here to ask.
It’s perfectly understandable for you to have been concerned @JustMe - I hope you’ve found some of the responses reassuring that the variations you have seen are quite normal.
Sometimes Dr Google can be a little overzealous I think!
Blood glucose varies, particularly in the hours after eating. And we now have more opportunity than ever to observe those variations.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes it was common to have an OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test) where you took some fast acting glucose and your BG levels were checked over a few hours. But these days the HbA1c is seen as a much more reliable measure, because it reflects glucose concentrations over a much longer period (3-4 months), so is less ruffled by an occasional wobble here and there.
Hope you continue to find Zoe helpful, but it seems like you can be reassured that your metabolism is coping well as long as your HbA1c remains in range. 🙂
