Got a little low. Wakes me up before the alarm goes off on my pump.

Well done & good luck in the run Sue. Hope it goes off to plan. Welcome 🙂

Welcome to the forum, glad you found us 🙂

Hi and welcome to the forum :D

Hi Sue

Why did the pump alarm go off? Have you got a CGM?

Hi welcome to the forum. Good luck with your training. I've done a half (2) and full marathon (3) in the past, I done walking ones though. But I'm training for my first 10km run at the end of January

That's awesome. I find that having a goal helps keep me motivated. I start my training Jan 23rd. I have a slight injury to work through. Been cross training with swimming, but end up fighting with low blood sugar at the end of a swim.

Hi Sue

Yes dexcom4. Works with the Animas Vibe pump. It helps a lot with the hypos. Especially when I exercise more than I am used to. My hubby hears it also and tells me to check my blood sugar. I usually wake up prior to the alarm going off because I feel so bad when I get low. There is a 5 min delay with the CGM that's why I feel it before the alarm goes off.

Welcome Sue. Good luck with the training and the half marathon itself. 🙂

Hi everybody. I've had type 1 for 40 years now and am hoping to run a half marathon again later this year. I ran Inverness half way back in 2002, but hoping it will be easier to manage sugar levels now that I'm on a pump. One problem I have is that my sugar often (but not always!) seems to go shooting up on the morning of a race, due perhaps to competition stress. Does anyone else have this problem and found good ways of coping with it (as well as frequent blood tests and correction doses!)
