Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hello everyone, I am glad to have joined this forum.

My name is Dougie, I am 48 years old and have been Type 2 diabetic for 15 years. I have not controlled my diabetes very well, though am making an effort now. In the past I have found it hard, I am a carer for a wife who has a long-term neurological illness which will eventually kill her, which I have found has made eating properly hard. My dad, which is T2, was very similar, and in recent years has lost one of his legs below the knee. I also suffer from neuropathy and tingling pains. If I was a horse, I'd be put down!

I will be 50 a year in March, and I have a goal to lose six stones and be healthier by then.

Hi Cherelle, thanks for the nice welcome. Setting the goals is the easy bit, keeping to them is the hard bit. But I have to give it a try. Thanks for the nice words.

Hi Dougie,
