And welcome to the forum from me as well Malcolm..... 🙂

Hi and welcome and good luck with the program! Have you had the sample soups and shakes to try yet? I think @Nayshiftin is doing the program but I am not sure if she has started it yet.

Welcome to the forum @MalcolmK

Good luck with the Oviva Programme. We have a few members who have found it successful, or are currently working through it.

@Kreator is one member who wrote about his experience here:

Hi Malcom,

welcome to the forum!

As @everydayupsanddowns mentioned, I found these forums invaluable to me while I was on the program, not only to write about my experiences but also to learn from everyone else, as well as help others doing the same!

Good luck, hope all goes well, enjoy the journey, it's yours to explore!

Hi Malcolm, I've not been on the chat for some time, but am also on the Oviva pathway, currently on week 49!
I lost 15.8kg during the first 12 weeks, then despite a couple of blips (& a 4 week TDR reset starting wk 34 - after stopping being careful enough including with drinking out/going on holiday & putting 3kg back on) I got back on track and am now in the normal BMI range, with a total loss so far of 26kg - a total of just over 4 stone ...
As I'm only 154cm tall - 5ft 1 5" (the half makes all the difference) that's a huge change.... it's 30% of my original starting weight!

I'd still like to lose a further 4kg, as I have RA & that means my recommended upper BMI is 23 rather than 25, but I'm confident I can get there soon after the end of the year.

I think the whole process has had a massive effect on my eating behaviour - & taste buds...I really don't like chips or fatty food at all now (apart from small amounts of strong cheese!)

Wishing you luck, and hoping you're making good progress x

Just in case you find that the diet is not going well for some reason - I tried slimming shakes and small meals late last year, after years of being in remission, but my weight still being much higher than when a young adult.
I did manage to stick to the diet, and I did lose weight, but after a couple of months I had my annual HbA1c check and found that it had gone up to 48 - so I was back in the diabetes range, though only just, and my thyroid function was down, so I have just had a test to check on that.
My normal way of eating is two meals at 12 hourly intervals, and no more than 40 gm of carbs a day. I don't bother about calories, as they don't seem to add up.
For some reason or collection of reasons the shakes diet did not suit my problem with diabetes - and I suspect that my weightloss was only transitory too - I don't weigh myself as I had so much trauma about 'slimming' diets not working and being blamed for it. I think that the low calorie regime rebounded just as it always has done over the last half century. It has been difficult to get back to my former way of eating which worked so well for so long.
If you find that the shakes and soups are not reducing your blood glucose, do not panic as there are other options to try which have proven successful and sustainable. We are all different and require slightly different solutions to put things right.
