Hello all, just plucked up the courage to join this forum. I'm Kim, I'm 32 and I have been a member of Diabetes UK for a year (since I got diagnosed) but never joined the forum.
I'm a Type 2 diabetic, I haven't had much information from my local surgery other than two reviews (one shortly after diagnosis, one recently) and have been devouring all the info on this website and reading up independently; however now I feel very overwhelmed and quite frightened. An uncle of mine has recently needed a toe amputation due to diabetic complications and I don't want that to be me.
I also have PCOS and am obese. I'm following a slimming plan but progress is very slow. I joined just so I can meet and talk to others with diabetes, despite never really seeing myself as the support group 'type' whatever that means.
