Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello just wondered how I stand with going to work I am a carer for the elderly, type 1 for 50 years also had a silent heart attack last year

I can’t comment on whether you should be giong Otto work. All I do know is that the advice for those with Diabetes, is that if it is well managed you are no more at risk of contracting the virus. It is well worth reviewing you sick day rules just in case, and making a note of your Total Daily Dose (TDD) if needed.

This is the current advice from DUK for those with Diabetes
I found it reassuring to read.

Dead serious subject of course - but have to say @SB2015 's overactive Spellcheck has just made me giggle!

Welcome to the forum @Sharon Hill

The official advice for people living with long term conditions is to opt for as much ‘social isolation’ as possible.

I can understand why you would be worried with both diabetes and heart trouble. But hopefully being 50 offers some protection. is your diabetes fairly well managed? Have you had much experience of DKA or other diabetes complications?

Sorry @Sharon Hill we have gone off topic.
I hope you find the link useful.
