Hi
I am new here but been diagnosed T2 for about 3 yrs and am on metformin.
Occasionally at night I get periods where I feel desperate need to pee and am constantly at toilet (maybe hourly) but don’t pee much but still have the urge.
Could this be a blood sugar issue? I haven’t had this for a while but staying in a hotel last night I had a small glass of wine, which is something I don’t usually do and last night was particularly bad.
Appreciate any thoughts or experiences.

Hello, and welcome to forum. Others will be along with comments soon I am sure

Hi, welcome to the forum.
It possibly could be. Do you self test your own BG (blood glucose) levels?

Hi no I don’t doctor has always said not recommended.

It could very well be glucose related but impossible to know if you’re not home testing (doctor said not recommended because he doesn’t want to fund the testing strips). The Hba1c is only an average and doesn’t show spectacular highs which can cause the nocturnal urge to pee.
Could however be prostate related or a UTI. Best to see the GP and my advice would be to get yourself a home testing kit so you can manage your own needs. In the meantime try to further reduce your carb and sugar intake. Best wishes.

Welcome, I would say its high blood sugar. Your body is trying to get rid of it. Really good luck & keep hydrated

I would seriously recommend self-testing, many of us manage our D on a daily basis based on testing results
