I was diagnosed as type 2 about 15 years ago (I’m 60) but it was so well controlled that I basically ignored it. Lately I’ve felt ill but I put it down to stress because my husband died a year ago and life is just more stressful. Anyway I went to my usual diabetic clinic expecting my usual pat on the head and instead I was told my readings were very bad and I need to have new meds and take regular bloods and change my diet. I’m in shock. I’m going to be asking for lots of advice I’m afraid. I don’t know what I should be eating or how often and I don’t understand the readings when I test my blood so I don’t know whether they are good or bad. But I will learn, with lots of help I expect
