Relationship to Diabetes

Hi, my name is Sharon, I've been type 1 for the last 50 years (10th August 1972) so far so good, still have all my fingers and toes, a little background retinopathy which hasn't changed for years.

Thought I'd quickly introduce myself before I start asking questions, yes even after 50 years there are always questions 🙂
 
Hello Sharon @shirrmontana and welcome to the forum. 50 years - Wow. I don't think I'll make it that long as only diagnosed at the age of 78 and still waiting to go to my 'Desmond introduction to Diabetes' class.

So ask away your questions - even silly ones get treated the same as any others do, I know I've asked a few in my three months of being diabetic.....Good luck for the future.

SO MANY questions! And they just keep coming!

Well done for successfully juggling your blood glucose levels for 5 decades! Did you ask about getting your 50 year medal?

We have a few long-termers on the forum for you to compare experiences with. And a few fresh faced newcomers like me with a mere 30 years’ under my belt :D

And as for those questions… ask away. nothing will be considered too obvious or silly.

As you say questions continue to come up however long we have had diabetes.
With the more recent tech the developments are amazing. What next.
Good to have your experience on here and I look forward to hearing more from you.
