Hello again!

I was for bloodwork the other week again in connection with my blood pressure follow up and it was interesting because i did get an explanation as to why my cholesterols didnt add upp correctly on the earlier checkup(compare the sum of LDL and HDL to the total chol in the previous post).

The reason they explained was that the methodology for direct LDL measures was not good so they have reverted and now use a formula based on total chol, HDL and Triglycerids instead. It should be as good as the other method.

So with those changes my last report looked like this:
Total Chol 5.5 mmol
HDL 1.3 mmol
LDL 3.6 mmol
LDL/HDL Quote 2.8
Triglycerids 1.2 mmol
Glycose 5.6
HbA1C was 34 mmol/mol.
They also took APO A1 and APO B but i didnt put the numbers here.

At least it gives some sense because before the maths did not really sum up.....Have a nice day everyone!

Just seeing this now.

Many congratulations. Excellent result. Hope the festive season hasn't undone too much of your hard work and if it has, hopefully you have plenty of time to redo it before your next test.
Well done!

Hey again! For some reason my doc wanted to do my bloodworks again. I thought it was a bit tight on the previous checks but i reckoned i can as well share the new values here too. I have added the new values to the right of the old ones in the text below. My doc was happy that the LDL had gone down. Any other comments?

Total Chol 5.5 mmol - New 4.8
HDL 1.3 mmol- new - 1.2
LDL 3.6 mmol - new 2.8
LDL/HDL Quote 2.8 - new 2.33
Triglycerids 1.2 mmol - new 1.8
Glycose 5.6 -new 5.4
HbA1C was 34 mmol/mol. - new 36
They also took APO A1 and APO B
ApoA1 1.2 g/L
ApoB 0,87 g/L
Ratio ApoB/ApoA1 0.73

Once again well done, great self-control on your part over the Xmas / NY period.

i dont know how good the control was, because i put on some weight, but maybe i ate more healthy...

Great to see cholesterol levels moving in the right direction @Andy_me

And congratulations on that low HbA1c! Are you still taking any meds to help with blood glucose levels? With those numbers your Doc might be tempted to talk about reducing them with you?
