Hi all, I'm the wife of a Type 2 person. He was diagnosed late on - not as a result of being overweight, he's never been that. I'm looking for help with his diet. Seems to have trouble when he eats pasta, rice and tomato based dishes which kinda confounds the info I've read so far.All good advice welcome.

welcome to the forum, you will find lots of helpful advice on type 2 diet, but, not from me, lol, but any minute now............

Hi and welcome 🙂

I'm sure one of the Mod's will post up some handy links soon for GI Diet and Gretchens book.

Rice and pasta can be troublesome as they are sources of starchy carbohydrate (as is potatoes and bread) and those can make him blood sugars high - I tend to limit my portions of those to small.

Hi Maxiesdemon. Welcome 🙂

Sadly, I don't have the links to hand but will go and rummage for them and post them, unless someone beats me to it ! :D
