Hi Julia and welcome

I share your pain! I'm ten years on and it does get easier, sometimes a bit of a rollercoaster but certainly a manageable way of life.

I remember the shock of diagnosis and not understanding at all what I could or couldn't eat. The DAFNE course helped enormously.

I wish I had done more to access support but nothing was offered to me at the time. I also didn't take a single day off work! My advice would be to work out what you need and ask for it. Sounds simple but I know it isn't.
I'm always scared but I'm trying to cope

Hi everyone I'm a newbie I was diagnosed last year November 26th type 1 I don't like it very much
Hello Julia. Welcome to the forum.

It's horrible isn't it, being diagnosed. :(

You have what I think of as 'proper' Diabetes. I don't know why I think that. A lot of people just presume that Type 2 is self-inflicted like in my case, caused by over-eating for decades. Crazy.
