Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Good Day Everyone,

I've been a diabetic for 8 years and I'm currently 31 years old. I had my tonsils removed and after the operation I was severely fatigued, consumed a lot of liquids and urinated alot, and barely ate. I also slept most of the time. This kept on for 4 weeks before i went to the doctor. I was admitted in hospital on a Glucose Level of 32.1, and was diagnosed with tipe 1 Diabetes. It was also confirmed later that i have anti-bodies.

Currently I'm eating healthy and exercise every day. My HbA1c is currently 8%.

Hi and welcome.

Hello @Xander welcome to the forum.

There's a wealth of experience and knowledge on here so if you've any questions or just need a diabetes type rant please join in 🙂

Hey, and welcome to the forum. There is lots of information here, but if you would like to ask questions then no question is silly

Hi and welcome from me too.

Sounds like you are managing things pretty well at the moment. Have you tried/been offered any of the new technology... Freestyle Libre, pumps etc. Which insulins do you have? Have you had a DAFNE (Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating) or similar course?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Good to hear that you are eating healthily and exercising, which are 2 of the mainstays of coping with diabetes. If you have any questions please ask. it is likely that someone on the forum will know the answer, and we are also quite good at listening and empathising.

And a warm welcome from me too ~ glad you found us. We are a friendly bunch who are willing to impart our knowledge of Diabetes so if you need to know anything Xander then please feel free to ask.
Take care.
WL
