Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I have been type 2 for many years, on Metformin. I learn that my last HBA1c was 38, and my target is 51. Does this make sense ? According to the Diabetes UK website 38 in non-diabetic.

I am planning to call my Dr. tomorrow but am very puzzled.

Thanks for advice. trebor

That is very good Trebor..... The goal is to keep BG as low as possible & avoid wildly fluctuating BG, a figure of 38 indicates that you are in good control....

Despite being in the non-diabetic range, you are still T2 so you will need to keep up the good work & be vigilant lest your control slip (as happened to me last winter)

Great result..!,

Treat a "Target" like a speed limit (maybe that is the wrong analogy for some people 🙂 )
consider it to be the highest the DR's would like to see, lower is better (as long as you don't find yourself having excessive Hypo's)

Welcome to the forum & well done with your result.🙂

Good result, well done mate🙂.

Can someone explain the numbers for me? I just had a 6 week Hba1c and awaiting the results. Whats a good range? My doctor hasn't really explained much to me so I'm just trying hard to eat low carb and watch calorie intake.

Low carb is the way to go, Carbs do the damage. I have never done calories in my life & being active is good. A simple walk is good for anyone. Welcome beejeezus 🙂
