Hi, I have been on and off the wagon with my diet for a while. Just wondering how quick nerve damage can develop as I have a 6-8 week heel injury probs longer. I have swelling in places, some varicose and red spider veins and now I have little white bumps at back of lower heel/lower leg that move in when I press them and turn whiter after running a finger across them. It's very painful when getting up after resting and first thing in morning...Please comment/advise 🙂

Hi Pamela. I agree with Sue, you should get it looked at.

I had a quick search on the internet, but I can’t find anything that tells us how quickly nerve damage can occur. I guess it depends on a number of different factors. BG levels over a period of time appears to be one of the major factors. Beyond that, I’m afraid I can’t give you any more information.

Thank you, i guess it's a tricky concept, I will give gp a ring in a min for a appt today, I am due to see diabetic nurse next month or July so am going to try and get hba1c down. It's been a little while since blood test, anyway, thanks guys 🙂

Yes. Best to get it looked at. We need to be careful with our feet!
