Scrambled eggs. Sometimes bacon and eggs my favourite. Do try to have onion, garlic and tomato as well as they're so good for you. Hark at me giving advice, I am the world's most failed type 2. :D Ignore all I say. Good luck, you'll soon get the hang of it, some experts on this forum, you won't go far wrong if you do what they say.
 
Thanks, what range would a high score be? I thought shredded wheat would be a good choice.thanks.
Anything made with wheat is going to be high in carbs - check the back of the packet - so you basically had some slabs of starch with a sugary liquid poured over them. For a type two, anyone heading towards it or anyone trying to lose weight carbohydrate is not a good choice.
 
Sounds like your body coped well with your breakfast during the morning @TheTrooper

If you wanted to take a closer look, to make sure that cereal wasn’t giving a big ‘spike’ initially, that your body then brought down during the morning you could check 2 hours after your first bite of breakfast.

Ideally your reading then would be:
  • below 8.5 if you were 4-7 before breakfast or
  • no more than +3 on top of your pre-breakfast reading if you started out a little high before you ate
The important thing is to find out how foods affect you individually as everyone has different tolerances. Some can cope with far more carbs than others - and you may be one of the ‘lucky ones’ 🙂
