Welcome BBP. Its for the best health wise. I don't know anything else but injecting insulin after being diagnosed when 3 a long time ago. Really good luck 🙂

Hi BBP, I was put on insulin about a year ago and was also nervous to start however I can say that I felt an immediate change in my wellbeing and that I had so much more energy than I did previously. It has really helped with gaining control of my diabetes and whilst I am still not quite where I want to be, it has definitely been worthwhile.

One day I may have to go on insulin and I'm not too worried if it happens. I'd do anything to stop Beelzebub getting his hands on me. Good luck with the new regime 🙂

Hi I am on abasaglar long acting insulin, taken once before bedtime. As it has not helped enough; Tomorrow I am being changed to humulin m3 30 mins before breakfast and 30 mins before tea time. To be honest it doesn't hurt. I am now just worried about getting hypos. You will get used to it. Its not as bad as the finger prick. Good luck and here is the best place to ask any questions you like. Stay well .

Thanks for that will try a different depth. I prick on the sides of my fingers. After a while even alternating , my fingers start to get tender. I also rotate injecting insulin, my DSN says below the belly button. What about two finger from bbc on the side?

All over your abdomen will be perfectly fine but I was always told 'give the BB a 1.5 inch margin' - so that's about 4cm in metric.
