Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi,
My name is Alessandro. I've been a Type 1 for more than 2 decades now and still struggling every day as I'm sure lots of you are as well 🙂

I think I've hit a wall lately, where nothing I do seems to have a lasting effect. I'm looking to find some new ideas and perspectives here but also share my experience, should someone else find it useful.

Hi Alessandro, welcome to the forum 🙂 I think we all hit that wall every now and again, hopefully we can help you to get over it and back on the road to good control 🙂

What insulin regime are you on? How are your blood sugar levels doing?

Welcome to the forum Simbul 🙂

Hi Alessandro, I've been Type 1 for 14 years now and can definitely relate to the daily struggle - not fun :-( I have been really struggling for the last 6/7 months and don't know how much more I can take. How do you cope?!

Neither of you - in fact NOBODY should have to struggle.

Can you explain - either of you - what it is that's getting to you - we've all been there and most of us have got through it OK - perhaps we can give you some tips or strategies to alleviate some of your stresses?

Yes - you do have to play the 'game' according to the rules, which can seem rigid and immoveable at times - but if you can learn to do that most of the time - then it turns out that sometimes it's also OK to 'bend' those rules a bit - and sometimes - you may even get away with it !

Soooo - I spose the best advice is to really learn the rules, by studying diabetes a bit more? - I know it's helped me. And the easiest way to learn about the Devil is to ask questions about any/all aspects of living with the thing.

Better the Devil you know than the Devil you don't!
