Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hey hey, you wonderful people!

I’m Mike and I’ve very recently been diagnosed with type 1. Thought I’d say hello and introduce myself. If anyone is around the Kingston area, let me know!

Much love!

Welcome to the forum Mike
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad that you have found us.
I have learnt more from people on here than from anywhere else.

I was diagnosed with T1 in my 50s. There is a lot to learn very quickly, but it does get easier, and you end up developing a new ‘normal’ life. Do ask any questions that you have, and know that no questions are considered silly on here.

A book that I found very useful, and still do,is Type 1 Diabetes in Children Adolescents and Young Adults by Ragnar Hanas. It is well written, with clear explanations and well indexed. I still refer to it after 11 years.

Keep in touch and ask anything that you need to.

Hi Mike welcome to the forum.🙂

Welcome to the forum Mike. There are several Diabetes UK Diabetes support groups around the country. There might be one in your area. Get a chance to meet others, and they talks from HCP etc.
